There's a virtual void within me since my departure from tumblr in 2016. in my absence, the site temporarily banned the posting of nudity and sexually explicit content in 2018. the site experienced a massive drop off from user traffic as a result of this change. i believe they retracted this site policy and you can post whatever you want again.

There's a virtual void within me since my departure from tumblr in 2016. in my absence, the site temporarily banned the posting of nudity and sexually explicit content in 2018. the site experienced a massive drop off from user traffic as a result of this change. i believe they retracted this site policy and you can post whatever you want again.

what never came back is the customizing feature through site themes. having the ability to choose your own theme layout with a bit of html and css coding involved is what separated tumblr from twitter, instagram, and pinterest. once myspace essentially went defunct, tumblr rose to prominence as the millenials and older gen z's hub for photo blogging, shitposting, and tastemaking. i would even argue that many of us in the arts right now wouldn't have a career in this field if it weren't for that site.

i'm back on tumblr, and the content is teeming with found images and artifacts, just as good as when i closed my account nine years ago. i still just miss blog-surfing for inspiration and for the hell of it, so i made this photo blog to cherish what once was. enjoy!
